As previously shared, Day 2 of the 2025 Investor Day will have 2 tracks on Sunday, 16th November, 9 am to 6.30 pm. Besides the special emphasis on the Malaysian semiconductor industry in Track 1, to help investors and businesses, the 2025 Investor Day will focus on another highly critical but difficult topic - Trump's 2025 Tariffs: Impact, Reactions, and How Investors and Businesses Can Adapt.
So far, the stock markets have reacted calmly, after the initial shock in early Apr 2025 to Trump's tariffs. Most economies have not been severely impacted. US inflation is picking up but so far, no one is panicking yet. Stock markets are doing well. Our advice is not to let this superficial calmness and business-as-usual mood lull you into a mood of complacency and not let your guard down or even missed investing opportunities. Why ?
Trump's tariff imperialism has not yet been fully implemented, a point which most people have missed, ignored or forgotten. From Tan Teng Boo's reading, Trump and his team have intentionally staggered his tariff roll-out; they know that if they repeat what happened in Jun 1930 with the Smoot-Hawley Act, the global stock market and economy will instantly collapse, as we all saw in early Apr 2025. So, Trump and his team purposely tested this strategy out first on 2 Apr 2025. They saw what happened then; they saw the instant carnage they created. They then quickly paused the so-called "Liberation Day" tariffs. President Trump instantly put out Plan B, which is what we are seeing now except Plan B has over time morphed into a few sub-variants.

According to a report by Gogolook and the Global Anti-Scam Alliance, 85% of Malaysians encountered a scam attempt last year and nearly three in four fell victim to scams in 2024. The average loss among victims was RM4,844.70. Education and age offered little protection, with 82% of victims being highly educated and 78% being millennials. Fraudulent investment-related activity is the most common type of scam, accounting for 63% of the total.
Since 2010, Capital Dynamics and icapital.biz Bhd have been organising NOT-FOR-PROFIT Investor Day every year. We believe that everyone should have access to high-quality investment education. This belief forms the foundation of this annual investor education event. Malaysians need to be educated to be smarter investors and understand what sound investment is like. By joining the content-rich Investor Day, participants would learn not only about the proper way of investing, but also a diverse range of relevant issues.
Please go to https://invday.icapital.biz/events/2025 to view the programme and register for the 2025 Investor Day. To help them from falling victims to investment scams, please also invite your friends and relatives to join you in this important investor education event. It is intentionally held on a weekend for the convenience of the public.
